Hi everyone,
Since I last updated the site, a lot has happened. I'm now proud to say that I'm a member of a group of writer's based in the United Kingdom, called Give-A-Song.com |

We write custom songs and template songs for special occasions. |
| For instance, if somebody wants a gift of a song, with their partner's name, eye color etc, something personal, they can chose from an existing template song, or have one especially written for them. Check out the site, and pass it on! It's a heap of fun, and a truly memorable gift. |

| I am also proud to announce that I have been asked to judge at this years Champion of Champions in Queensland. It's quite an honor, and one that I am looking forward to. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was a competitor myself -- my how fast time passes!! |
The album 'Light of Hope' is doing well. We've nominated it into quite a few of the big awards, so fingers crossed and breath's held! We'll keep you updated on any movements.
As I wrote earlier, the track sung by Vanya 'Talking To Ghosts' picked up a 2nd in this year's ASA awards in the ballad section.
We are very proud of the achievements to date and the reception that the album is getting as a whole.
People are not just buying one copy, they purchase 2, 3 or 4! |

I recently did an interview with 2 other people from Queensland Homicide Victim's Support Group, on the ABC in Brisbane, on 'The Conversation Hour' with Richard Fidler.
The show reaches audiences from South East Queensland right through to Sydney and surrounding areas. We spoke about our experience and aftermath of having somebody murdered in your family.
Myself (speeking about my brother Brian Heathcote, who's case is still going through court), Ross Thompson (for those who were at the Album launch in July - you will remember Ross from his moving speech about his son, and the Toowoomba triple homicide in 2005, and Mandi Smith who's son Chris was murdered in 2001.

We have a NEW BAND! The Avocado Theory'. We've sized down this time, and are doing mostly covers to start, modern and retro, as the Gold Coast doesn't seem to want much country. So if they want avocado's -- we'll give them avocado's -- LITERALLY!!The members are myself (Vocals and accoustic guitar), Scott Shelly (Lead guitar and keyboards), Peter Leighton (our drummer from the Twang Gang) and Rohan Belton on Bass. I'm still painting. There's a couple of pics of my paintings below. I do paint custom pieces for anyone interested. Just tell me the subject matter or none - colours - a brief idea of what you would like, a size - I paint all acrylics at the moment.
I will give you an estimate price and you can decide on whether you would like one or not! I'm currently doing a series to put down at Byron Bay. 'The Byron Series'. There's an example below. I also do traditional pictures like the 'Boats on Tweed' pictured, and 'Cooly Surf' also pictured. Both are sold.
